Songs streaming system Spotify is experimenting with a way for artists to display their NFT (non-fungible tokens) collections. The system has reportedly rolled out the check for some people on Android in the U.S. and currently includes NFT previews for artists like Steve Aoki and The Wombats.
“Spotify is running a check in which it will support a little team of artists to promote their current 3rd-occasion NFT offerings through their artist profiles,” a Spotify spokesperson explained in a statement to Music Ally on March 13.

Once the Spotify application is up-to-date, buyers can obtain the test and view NFT galleries from find artists’ profiles. People are also directed to the OpenSea webpage wherever they can acquire the NFTs from.
Spotify doesn’t seem to be to help NFTs that are films or GIFs but only reveals a static impression of the NFT in the application, not the full online video or audio.
According to Music Ally, Spotify will not obtain a fee for any NFT revenue produced via the app and is just tests the integration.
