Growing opportunity: scholarship aimed at Rifle High School students with limited access to funding

A scholarship chance aimed at marketing increased education and learning for Rifle Large Faculty pupils with minimal entry to funding is starting to increase, suggests its founder.

Daniel Dunlap, managing director of The Levi Scott Dunlap Memorial Basis, mentioned he initially started this effort and hard work in honor of his late son, Levi. Levi graduated from Rifle Higher College in 1995 and died unexpectedly in 2013.

“I’m just starting off to get myself put alongside one another just after that and decided to try out to honor (Levi’s) appreciate for academia and give back again to Rifle High College,” Dunlap said. “And let others to contribute to the foundation and do the same.”



The foundation is in its second yr, and in 2021 it gave a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Rifle Substantial School senior.

“I expect we’ll be ready to give much more scholarships and for greater quantities for this faculty year, but we have not observed specifically what our money circumstance is likely to be,” Dunlap explained. “It’s unquestionably likely to be better than it was past calendar year.”



Prime candidates for the scholarship are college students who intend to pursue affiliate levels, technological certifications, competent trade plans, community colleges or other such secondary instruction, according to the foundation’s web site.

Dunlap stated he is at the moment finalizing scholarship applications with Rifle Superior School, which pupils can fill out and email to the basis at [email protected].

“The families of Rifle Substantial School, as a rule, are not wealthy,” Dunlap said. “And it is critical that their young children have the chance to get an education and learning that will allow for them to be profitable.”
